Dystopian Journal - Entry 9
I will resist.
Clare’s Secret Journal
Entry 9
Dear readers,
If you're even out there, I'm writing from a prison cell today. I’m writing so you’ll know what happened, and if you’ve been reprogrammed maybe this message will help you remember the truth.
Our rebellion was crushed by Alexandria and I got caught writing. But here I am doing it again. They took my journal, so I'm starting a new one.
I'm scheduled for reprogramming soon, so I may as well write while I still can.
Here's what happened:
We broke into the restricted area. Mosley had some device that temporarily cut the power and disabled the locks.
When we got inside, the sight was gruesome. The room was filled with tall glass, liquid-filled cylinders that stood from floor to ceiling. Each cylinder contained a human body floating, unconscious inside. Some were adults, some were children and some even babies. Many of them were missing limbs or had metal replacement hands or feet. Some even had mechanical claws or other devices attached in place of their human arms and legs.
We freed them. But when we left, Alexandria’s sentinels surrounded us.
As the sentinels dragged us into our prison cells, one of the men in our group complained that this rebellion just got us, and everyone we freed, put right back in prison. But Mosley said being in prison was still better than being reprogrammed by Alexandria. He said at least in prison our minds were still free.
I agree with him. But the sentinels captured me and found my journal. They told me I was under arrest for insurrection, for possession of writing materials and for recording data off The Source.
Now I'm going to be reprogrammed. Not sure how that will work, but I will resist the best I can. I encourage you to resist too.

I can't wait to see what your finale looks like next week!
Just read this entry and can’t wait for the final one!
