I'm reminded of Winston Smith in Nineteen Eightfour sitting writing his diary out of view of the telescreen. At the end of the book Winston has been broken by the system but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I bolded some words to reveal a message. I didn't want to draw too much attention to it, hoping people would discover it themselves. But I don't think it was enough. Oh well, I'm still figuring this stuff out!
What a crazy twist. I was hoping for a hero story, but this kept me on the edge of my seat way more than I expected.
