I heard you.

More First Contact coming this week!

When I started writing First Contact, I actually thought it wouldn’t be very popular. I didn’t even put it through my usual process of writing, editing, overthinking, editing again, crippling self doubt, reluctance to post, and then finally posting (with my eyes closed).

I just wrote it. Read it again. Said, “sure, why not?” And then posted it.

Now, First Contact is my most popular post

Although, I admit, I braced myself when I posted it. I thought people would hate it. I thought they would call it “trite” or “overdone” or “unoriginal”.

Instead, I heard the opposite. Many of you said it was a refreshing new take on an old trope.

I mean, just look at these screen grabs below!

You’ll see I redacted the names. I did this for two reasons:

1. Redacted files are all the rage right now.

2. I didn’t want any of you to be implicated if the rest of this story turns out to be terrible! 🤣
